Knights Support Ukrainian Orphans Displaced By War
0:00
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine last February, more than 100 children from the cities of Myrne and Melitopol were relocated to a retreat center outside Częstochowa, Poland. With financial support from the Knights of Columbus, the local branch of the international charitable organization Caritas now operates the center as an orphanage, offering love, safety and stability to refugee children who have lost everything. Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly visited the home and spent time with the children there during Holy Week of 2022. Songs of Hope for Ukraine
0:00
Danylo and Alexander Fedoryka — the founders of the folk band Scythian — grew up in a household rooted in Ukrainian traditions and in Catholic faith. After nearly 20 years as a band, they have not forgotten the lesson their mother imparted to them: that music is an avenue to evangelize and show God’s love. The brothers, who are members of John Carrell Jenkins Council 7771 in Front Royal, Va., have been living out that vocation by performing traditional Ukrainian songs with their band to raise funds for those suffering from the invasion of Ukraine. The group asked fans to donate to the Knights of Columbus Ukraine Solidarity Fund, which is providing humanitarian aid including shelter, food, medical supplies and clothing, for refugees and displaced people. Until March 1, 2023, 50% of the proceeds from all sales of Scythian music on this platform (https://official-scythian-merch-store.myshopify.com) will go to the Order’s Ukraine Solidarity Fund in support of ongoing relief efforts. Holy Week 2022: Knights Support Ukraine Refugees

As Easter approaches amid war and in Ukraine, the words of Venerable Fulton Sheen give perspective: “Evil has its hour, but God has his day.” The Knights of Columbus is continuing to bring hope for Ukrainian refugees through the Order’s Ukraine Solidarity Fund, which is providing temporary shelter, food, medical supplies, clothing and religious supplies for those in need. 100% of your gift to the fund will go directly to these displaced people.
