Knights Deliver Wheelchairs to Afghan Orphans

In May 2006, the Missionaries of Charity opened an orphanage for severely disabled children in Kabul, Afghanistan. When the Taliban seized control of the country in August 2021, thousands were forced to flee, including the missionaries and orphans. The sisters eventually relocated 14 Afghan children to Rome, where the Knights of Columbus provided them with wheelchairs. Victor Fee Greco, 24, was elected grand knight of Our Lady of Fatima Council 6391 in Inverness, Fla., in 2017 and led it to Star Council status two years in a row. Now a student at Ave Maria School of Law, Greco has served since 2019 as district deputy of Florida District #33, which earned a Star District Award for 2020-2021. Lori of Baltimore visited Mother Mary Lange Catholic School, the first school opened by the archdiocese in half a century.
