A Brother in Need
0:00
Luis David Malavé Sánchez joined San Lorenzo Martir Council 16825 in Salinas, Puerto Rico, because he was drawn to the brotherhood he saw among the Knights. When Hurricane Fiona damaged his family’s home in September 2022, Knights of Columbus stepped in to help, bringing Luis and his wife, Melissa, food, clean water and other essential supplies. “As they served on different occasions,” explained Past Grand Knight Miguel Ángel Padilla Meléndez, “it was time for us to serve them.” Going for the ¡Gol!

When Knights from San Eugenio de Mazenod Council 17299 in Miramar, Florida, realized that many families in their community could not afford to sign up their kids for soccer clubs, they decided to create a free youth soccer program. Almost 200 children participated in the first session in October 2019. The program has been such a hit that the Knights now run it year-round, teaching teamwork, supporting parents and building up their parish community. St. John Paul II’s Message to Families
0:00
In May 1990, St. John Paul II celebrated Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu on the island of Gozo during his pastoral journey to Malta. In his homily, he called on Catholics to look to the Blessed Mother amid life’s challenges: “May she, who ‘pondered in her heart’, the mystery of God’s love as it was revealed in the life of her Son, guide parents and children to respond fully to the vocation which they have received as sons and daughters of God, redeemed by Christ and born again in the Holy Spirit.”
