Largest Church in Canada Honors St. Joseph
0:00
St. André Bessette, a lay brother of the Congregation of the Holy Cross, envisioned a place of pilgrimage dedicated to St. Joseph on Montreal’s highest peak, Mount Royal. Construction began in 1904, and his vision was fully realized with its completion in the 1960s. Today, the Oratory of St. Joseph is the largest church in Canada and the preeminent international center of devotion to the adoptive father of Jesus Christ. Every year, Knights assist with Sacred Heart Cathedral’s Spanish Market and Parish Fiesta in Gallup, N.M. This three-day festival brings together the community through multiple events, including an art show, a car show and a concert. The festival culminates with a eucharistic procession around the neighborhood. Cor: Building an Intentional Relationship with Christ
0:00
Cor meetings exist to strengthen and form Catholic men in faith and virtue as missionary disciples. The name is drawn from the motto of St. John Henry Newman, Cor ad cor loquitur, which is Latin for “Heart speaks to heart.” Distinct from the monthly council business meeting, the Cor meeting is designed to help Catholic men build a more intentional relationship with Christ through prayer, formation, and fraternity.
