Knights Provide Aid to Victims of Canadian Wildfires

In spring 2023, devasting wildfires raged across Canada, engulfing millions of acres of forests. In response, the Supreme Council provided gift cards and $50,000 in aid to remote communities in Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories. State Deputy Gaston Launière drove over 1,500 km through the Canadian north to deliver that aid. Natural disasters, like the Canadian wildfires, can happen anytime and anywhere. Members of St. Benedict Council 12290 in Anchorage handed out almost 500 coats to kids in need at a back-to-school event organized by the city’s police department. Since it began in 2009, Coats for Kids has provided nearly 1 million warm winter coats to families across the United States, Canada, and around the world.
