The storm surge toppled the 8-foot walls of the Poor Clare Nuns’ San Damiano Monastery, trapping the sisters and their parish pastor. Knights Provide Winter Coats for Kids in Alaska

Winter comes early in Alaska, and so does the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program! Members of St. Benedict Council 12290 in Anchorage handed out almost 500 coats to kids in need at a back-to-school event organized by the city’s police department. Since it began in 2009, Coats for Kids has provided nearly 1 million warm winter coats to families across the United States, Canada, and around the world.
