In Solidarity with Ukraine
0:00
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24th, 2022, was a shock to the world. Through this war we are witnessing the reality of evil. But we’re also seeing something else. As tanks tore through Ukraine to kill, concerned citizens and Brother Knights arrived with relief supplies to sustain life. As refugees fled, volunteers stood at the border to provide critical care and housing. As bombs dropped from the sky, people of faith sent their prayers to the heavens. In Solidarity with Ukraine, an inspiring new film from the Knights of Columbus, see a vivid example of what it means to be a Christian disciple in the midst of war, and how the light of the Gospel continues to shine in the darkness. Songs of Hope for Ukraine
0:00
Danylo and Alexander Fedoryka — the founders of the folk band Scythian — grew up in a household rooted in Ukrainian traditions and in Catholic faith. After nearly 20 years as a band, they have not forgotten the lesson their mother imparted to them: that music is an avenue to evangelize and show God’s love. The brothers, who are members of John Carrell Jenkins Council 7771 in Front Royal, Va., have been living out that vocation by performing traditional Ukrainian songs with their band to raise funds for those suffering from the invasion of Ukraine. The group asked fans to donate to the Knights of Columbus Ukraine Solidarity Fund, which is providing humanitarian aid including shelter, food, medical supplies and clothing, for refugees and displaced people. Until March 1, 2023, 50% of the proceeds from all sales of Scythian music on this platform (https://official-scythian-merch-store.myshopify.com) will go to the Order’s Ukraine Solidarity Fund in support of ongoing relief efforts.
