Life-Saving Care for Ugandan Village

When members of Knights of Columbus St. Peter and Paul Council 11475 in Palmyra, Va., learned from their pastor, Father Gerald Musuubire, about the lack of medical care in his hometown of Kitakyusa, Uganda, the council responded. Not only did the Knights raise funds in support, but members also flew to the village to help build St. Francis of Assisi Health Center. Today, the center provides care for the people of the village and is saving lives thanks to an ultrasound machine donated by the Knights. Knights Provide Winter Coats for Kids in Alaska

Members of St. Benedict Council 12290 in Anchorage handed out almost 500 coats to kids in need at a back-to-school event organized by the city’s police department. Since it began in 2009, Coats for Kids has provided nearly 1 million warm winter coats to families across the United States, Canada, and around the world. Brother Knights Rescue Nuns and Parish Priest following Hurricane Ian

In September 2022, Hurricane Ian struck the Fort Myers area with devastating winds and flooding. The storm surge toppled the 8-foot walls of the Poor Clare Nuns’ San Damiano Monastery, trapping the sisters and their parish pastor. Knowing they would still be at the Monastery, local Knights trekked to the island that is home to the monastery and rescued the Poor Clares and their pastor, who had been trapped for four days.
