In 2009, the Knights of Columbus launched a new initiative designed to keep kids warm in harsh winter climates. With many families with young children struggling in tough economic times, there was a clear need to provide warm winter coats to children in their communities. And so, the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program was born. Since the program's inception, the Knights of Columbus in the United States and Canada has given away 150,000 coats to children in need. More than 1,000 of local Knights of Columbus councils have participated in their communities. Knights Provide Aid to Victims of Canadian Wildfires

In spring 2023, devasting wildfires raged across Canada, engulfing millions of acres of forests. In response, the Supreme Council provided gift cards and $50,000 in aid to remote communities in Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories. State Deputy Gaston Launière drove over 1,500 km through the Canadian north to deliver that aid. Natural disasters, like the Canadian wildfires, can happen anytime and anywhere.
