Leo Chisholm: A Model of Service

0:00

For over 60 years, Leo Chisolm has been a Knights of Columbus. A Navy veteran, family man, and insurance salesman (who continues to work full-time at age 92), his mission in life is to help others. When he was diagnosed with melanoma in his neck, he prayed to God to save his voice from the cancer and that if it were spared, he would use it to promote the Cancer Society. He recovered and kept true to his word. Leo is also involved with Relay for Life, has managed his local food bank, and has served as a regional hospital board member. As a Brother Knight, he has started five new councils, signed up 148 members, and is an honorary life member in both the 3rd and 4th Degrees, among many other honors. His family and friends describe Leo as having volunteered more than anyone else in the city of Osage, IA: “Leo is one of those guys, as a member of the Knights of Columbus, that will do anything for you at any time.” Among these many accomplishments, Leo maintains that his greatest was being married to his wife for 67 years until her passing.
