Faith was in college, working as a waitress, engaged, and pregnant. Her fiancé pressured her to abort her unborn child, something she could not bring herself to do. At the same time, Joe and Jane Dalton moved to her town and opened a pregnancy resource center. As a Knight of Columbus, Joe worked with his brother Knights to get the project off the ground. It wasn’t long before Faith came across the center and was soon given the support she needed in her pregnancy. Thanks to the Daltons and the Knights, Faith safely gave birth to her baby boy.

An Atheist Returns to the Faith – Daniel Magallenes

When Daniel Magallanes first became a firefighter, his priorities changed, and he became distant from his faith. His entire world was turned upside down, though, when his wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor that required surgery. While Daniel faced this challenge, people began to enter his life who pointed him toward God. This culminated in a providential meeting with a priest that led to his return to the faith. Today, as a Knight of Columbus, Daniel is proud to serve the Church and the community and is grateful for the support of his brother Knights in his life.

A Hero on the Hudson - Captain Vince Lombardi

For nearly two decades, Vince Lombardi has been a ferry captain for the New York Waterway. January 15, 2009, was like any other day for Vince, ferrying passengers to their destination. That is until a passenger jet came to rest in front of his vessel in the Hudson River. Knowing that every second mattered, Vince mobilized his crew and helped rescue 56 passengers from the wing of the submerged plane. He credits God and putting faith into action with helping accomplish this harrowing feat.

Discovering a Homeless Man’s Surprising Identity – Patrick Lubrano

Patrick Lubrano had a chance meeting with a man experiencing homelessness on the side of a highway. The man recognized the Knights of Columbus insignia on Patrick’s clothing and identified himself as a former Catholic priest. Wanting to help the man and others like him, Patrick began collecting blankets and other supplies for those experiencing homelessness in Denver. When he approached his Grand Knight for support, he enthusiastically got behind the effort. Despite his own personal health challenges, including the need for a heart transplant, Patrick continues his work, inspiring his Brother Knights along the way.

Floyd Patterson: Heavyweight Champ and Knight

Floyd Patterson was one of the greatest boxers of all time, with 55 wins, an Olympic gold medal and two Fighter of the Year awards. In 1991, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. But less well- known was Patterson’s deep Catholic faith. In retirement, he joined the Knights of Columbus in New Paltz, N.Y., and took great joy serving as a eucharisitc minister at the local nursing home. Called the “Gentleman of Boxing” at his death in 2006, he was remembered for his kindness and integrity.
