In the Philippines, an estimated 784,000 people live as modern-day slaves, and approximately 100,000 of these victims are children. To help address this scourge, the Knights of Columbus has established a partnership with Arise, an NGO that fights human trafficking and child exploitation around the world. With a grant from the Knights, Arise supports organizations in the Philippines, including religious orders, that provide care, safety and education for victims of trafficking, offering them an opportunity for healing and hope. Knights of Columbus from nine North Dakota councils came together earlier this year to build and deliver dozens of beds for families at the reservation’s St. Bernard Mission School. “It’s hugely impactful for their lives,” said Msgr. Chad Gion, pastor of the Catholic Indian Mission on Standing Rock. “For our students who are part of the mission school, these are the sort of basic things that change the quality of life significantly.” Become a Knight today: http://kofc.org/join Subscribe now to keep up with the Knights! http://bit.ly/SubscribeKnightsOfColumbus Stay connected on social media: https://www.facebook.com/KnightsofColumbus https://twitter.com/kofc https://www.instagram.com/kofc_official Visit us at: http://www.kofc.org
